Staffordshire University Drama, Studio One Stoke

The Drama and Theatre Arts Department at Staffordshire University run two undergraduate and one postgraduate degree:       

 

BA (Hons) Acting and Theatre Arts: concentrating on acting, directing, play production, theatre and dramatic history, applied theatre and small scale theatre.

 

BA (Hons) Acting and Screen Performance combines all the above plus a module on screen acting and performance at each level.

 

Our MA in Theatre Practice is for theatre professionals (including drama teachers) who wish to study for an MA around their busy lives.

 

 

The degrees give numerous opportunities for public performances at the University and further afield such as when we took our 3rd year production of The Winter's Tale to the RSC's Open Air Space: The Dell. Our Acting and Theatre Arts Degree has just been awarded Drama UK 'Recognition' status. This is for degrees that can demonstrate that graduates can be industry ready upon completion of their course.

 

 

Our degrees also allow for placement opportunities in theatres, schools and arts organisations that gves our students a taste of real life work experience. Our Degrees are taught by both Full Time and Casual Lecturers who are not just leaders in their field but also industry professionals.

 

Our new MA in Theatre Practice by Negotiated Learning is designed for busy theatre professionals who wish to upskill and use their own practice as a vehicle for study.
